Your journey begins in the Parish of Clestuard, which has a variety of subregions, towns and other areas!

The Parish of Clestuard

The Parish of Clestuard is the first full region that you can explore. It has 6 key subregions: Overlook Slopes, Kemglais Village, Clestuard Meadows, Lake Hindwin, Mount Feshfen and Blerun Forest. It is primarily inhabited by humans and a few anglers.

Overlook Slopes

Overlook Slopes is defined as the slight hill to the west of Kemglais Village, the west and north of the hill is covered in deciduous tree cover. Overlook Slopes gets its name from the outpost constructed above the village to ensure the residents of Kemglais had a vantage point to spot invading armies crossing through the mountains - which is also the most notable structure in the subregion.

Overlook Slopes is a hilly area in the west of Clestuard. It is covered by a deciduous forest on its north and west flanks, and a single watchtower is situated at the top of the hill.

Kemglais Village

The subregion of Kemglais is characterised by Kemglais Village and the surrounding farms to the north of the settlement. The majority of the population of Clestuard reside in the Kemglais subregion along with most of the services, such as shops and the only inn around. Kemglais Village’s very own library keeps records of its history and tells of its previous importance and size - back when Feshfen Caverns were still a bustling mine. The parish authority - Councillor Rellia - has her residence here.

Kemglais Village is the largest settlement in Clestuard, and is in the west of the parish. This is where the parish is ran by Councillor Rellia. There is a militia that is called upon to guard the village, which Tauré Illenia is currently a member of. The village has a lively inn called the 'Unnam Din', but the locals refer to it as 'The Fat Cavro' - its former name. The village also boasts a library, full of local history, and a selection of shops. It is the heart of the parish.

Clestuard Meadows

The subregion of Clestuard Field, which the parish gets its name from, is a flat area situated between Kemglais Village, Lake Hindwin and Mount Feshfen. It is renowed across Plinoula for its pleasant floral meadows and scenery - it is the home to the endemic species: the Clestuardian Aster. The field is home to a singular house along the road that runs through the centre of its fields bursting with vibrant golds, oranges and subdued pinks and purples.

Lake Hindwin

Lake Hindwin, its shores and the Hindwin Plain to the north constitute the Lake Hindwin subregion. The lakeside is peppered with bridges, remnants from a bygone age when the mines under Mount Feshfen were still open. Many ruins lie around the lake, reminding residents of what used to be. The major ruins of note are the Feshfen Mine entrance where disused, crumbling buildings lie infront of a boarded-up and blockaded cave and the Syunt ruins in the east - their purpose now long forgotten…

Mount Feshfen

The ever-visible spires of Mount Feshfen loom over Clestuard. The highland regions in the northeast are all attributed to the Mount Feshfen subregion. The subregion has two peaks: Mount Feshfen, the highest; and Igris Peak, much lower at 63m above Lake Hindwin’s surface (632m above Plinoulan sea level). To the north of the jagged, rocky and treacherous peaks, lies Blerun - a river with a coniferous forest of the same name running down the north flank of Mount Feshfen. In the depths of the Blerun forest, far off the beaten path, there lies a disused temple of some kind… perhaps it has some connection to the Syunt ruins.

Feshfen Caverns (Subterranean Region)

What once was the driving heart of Clestuard and Kemglais, now lies disused, blockaded and forgotten. The caverns tell of a time long ago when they were explored and mined for iridescent gemstones found nowhere else.; now they lie cold, lifeless, dead though they were never living. Rumors of poor working conditions, rockfalls and nothing remaining in the mines float around as reasons for their closure, but all those that worked there have long since departed - the ones that might’ve known - and the mine has been boarded and blockaded since…
